![]() At a molecular level, viscosity is a result of the interactions between the different molecules in a fluid. All real fluids (except superfluids) have some resistance to stress, but a fluid that has no resistance to shear stress is known as an ideal fluid or inviscid fluid. However, since the viscosity of most fluids is below 1 Pa-s, the millipascal-second (mPa-s) is often used instead. The SI unit for viscosity η is the Pascal-second (Pa-s), which corresponds to the force (N) per unit area ( ). Therefore, more viscous liquids have a lower rate of flow. The negative sign signifies that the viscous force is directed against the velocity gradient. Here, F denotes the viscous force acting on area A and du/dy is the velocity gradient along the positive y-direction. Mathematically, for a small velocity gradient, we can write: It is quantitatively expressed in terms of the coefficient of viscosity, η, which is defined as the tangential for a unit velocity gradient (the difference in velocity between adjacent layers of the fluid) that exists in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the motion. In technical terms, viscosity is a measure of the resistance to the flow that a liquid offers when it is subjected to shear stress. For instance, honey is thicker than water because it is more viscous. ![]() ![]() In other words, viscosity corresponds to the “thickness” of a liquid. It is defined as the property of a liquid by virtue of which an opposite force (internal friction) comes into play between different layers whenever there is a relative motion between these layers of the liquid. Such behavior of a liquid in the flow is described by an intrinsic property called viscosity. Do you remember the first time you used a honey bottle, perhaps for green tea, or something else? You must have noticed when the honey bottle is nearly empty, and it takes very long for honey to reach the mouth of the bottle. ![]()

![]() ![]() Even though VLC isn’t among the apps I frequently use, I still wholeheartedly recommend it. The app would often shut down without any obvious reason while playing a file most of the other players wouldn’t struggle with, but it’s quite possible it’s not so much the player, as the file itself. Also, for some of the files I’ve used it with, the playback quality was far from stellar. What I personally don’t like about VLC is that it’s quite heavy on resources. #Quod libet vs clementine mac osIt runs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Unix, iOS, Android, etc. VLC is highly customizable, and there are a lot of extensions for it. If you can’t play a file with it, it’s unlikely you will be able to open it with any other player. #Quod libet vs clementine movieThough VLC is best known as a movie player, it’s great as a music player, too, simply because it has the largest collection of codecs. This is probably one of the reasons why it’s a very popular player, though I personally don’t like it that much. Since I grew up with Winamp and loved its keyboard shortcuts, it was a nice surprise that they are present in the Linux version, too. It’s (relatively) lightweight and has a decent feature set. It does crash, and there are many files it can’t play, but nevertheless I still love it the most. I know there are better players, but I somehow just love this one and use it most of the time. Qmmp isn’t the most feature-rich (or stable) Linux music player, but it’s my favorite one, and this is why I put it as number one. #Quod libet vs clementine for macBest Music Players For Mac (2019) 1.In this article I will be covering more music players for Linux that in some aspects are even better than the ones we’ve already told you about. ![]() Unlike Apple’s iTunes, a music player must be extremely lighter and faster and should have the ability to get easily organized with custom playlists, audio profiles, music library, multiple formats of the audio etc to name a few. The basic idea behind thinking to give the importance to the music players by the biggest IT companies only lies in the fact that the music players are one of the most used software installed frequently by the users in all the kinds of devices including mobile, tablets, PCs and even others. Mobile operating systems including Android, iOS etc along with the PC supported OS such as Windows, Mac and others have provided a provision to launch in-built music player software along with the launch of the operating systems. ![]() This also allows you to draw much faster and express more ideas as mentioned above. Focus more on the overall layout, composition, and flow of the story. The main concept is that you draw small so that you can’t get too obsessed with the details. ![]() Every artist may feel more comfortable working at a slightly or not slightly different size for this stage of the work. You don’t have to keep them that small, although smaller sketches do speed up the creative process and tend to have more energy. Sometimes the clients would supply you with a mood board containing all the elements that needed to be in the storyboards. I learned this technique when I was a storyboard artist. Then open them in an image editor and create what’s called a mood board. You can even combine human characteristics to make some of the creatures more relatable.Ī great way to organize all of these ideas together is to create a folder on your computer and put all your reference images in it. You have all sorts of neat animals, plants, and insects to work with. The artist is just combining the ideas in a way that makes the creature fun, interesting, or even scary to witness. Then you push those ideas into the world of the unknown.Įvery creature design you have ever seen is a compilation of other animals. You might be thinking, “Where do I get a reference for aquatic lifeforms that no one has ever seen?” Well, you make them from life, of course! You start with ideas that inspire and intrigue you about the world as you know it. The preliminary sketches you create in this step will help you get ready for the next step in gathering references. Where do they live, and how do they live? The better you can paint these pictures in your mind, the better your illustrations will look and you will have a much better idea of what references to gather. Spend time familiarizing yourself with the story and then sketching ideas of what these characters might look like. My point is that each of these requires a very different visualization, and you may need to push your imagination a bit further. Where are your characters in the story? Are they on a futuristic cyborg inhabited planet, where the cities are in the clouds? Are they humans in a dystopian city scrounging for mechanical parts to repair their battle equipment to fight the oppressors? Are they even human, or maybe some aquatic life form that no one has ever seen that is readying itself to make first contact with the humans? We have to understand that even though comics are fun and packed with creativity, they still require a well-thought-out plan to execute properly. It’s not always enough to just sit down and start drawing. ![]() To do this properly we have to take time to visualize our story. If you are new to the process I suggest you start with a short story. ![]() A Complete Step by Step Guide to Drawing Comic Book Heroes | By Robert Marzullo Explore Course Step 1: Know the story and visualizeįirst we have to write a script or have one to work from. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() requestAnimationFrame(scrollOnNextTick) is passed as an argument that can be used to cancel the scroll animation by passing it to cancelAnimationFrame as an argument. The return value lies between 0 and 1, which defines what fraction of the total scroll amount the element has to be scrolled to. For example, if the duration specified was 2s, and 0.5s have elapsed, then the input to the timing function would be 0.5 / 2 = 0.25. In the context of our problem, the timing function will take the ratio of the time elapsed and the total duration of the animation as input. So, we’ll have to wire that up ourselves! ![]() Unfortunately, there is no out-of-the-box way to define the animation of a scroll. You can read in depth about timing functions here. Under the hood, both of these methods use the concept of timing functions.Ī timing function is a function of time and defines the variation of speed of an animation over a given duration, that is, its acceleration.
